Soft Mobility
Sustainable Mobility Commitment
At Dolphin Semiconductor, our commitment to soft mobility is a natural extension of our overall mission to promote energy efficiency. In 2020, we have launched the Sustainable Mobility package to encourage more environmentally friendly modes of transport. With a strong community of bike commuters, we aim to inspire more and more of our employees to these practices.
Objectives and Benefits
Reducing our carbon footprint, enhancing well-being, and saving money — this is our triple objective at Dolphin Semiconductor. By choosing sustainable modes like cycling, we’re not only reducing our environmental impact but also improving the health of our employees. Cycling means less CO2, better fitness, and significant savings.
Car versus bike: the carbon impact of a car is significantly higher than that of a bike.
Improve Health
Reduce risk of cardiovascular disease
A more active brain to increase productivity
Protection from respiratory issues
Minimize Carbon Footprint
Less CO2 emissions
Less air and noise pollution
Save Money
Save thousands a year on fuel costs
No more parking
Less maintenance costs
Initiatives
Soft mobility is at the core of our initiatives. We offer mileage allowances for carpooling and cycling, as well as subsidies for the bicycle purchases. We regularly organize events such as participative mechanics workshops, safety awareness sessions, and electric bike tests. In addition, we cover part of the cost of public transport season tickets and bike rentals.
We have implemented the necessary infrastructure to support soft mobility: including secure storage, showers, and changing rooms. We continually strive to optimize our facilities to further encourage and facilitate these practices.
We know that reducing travel is crucial. That’s why remote work and flexible working hours are integral to our sustainable mobility policy. By allowing employees to work remotely and set their own hours, we contribute to reducing our company’s overall carbon footprint.
"I've been cycling to work for almost a year now, and I couldn't have done without it!
I come by bike almost every day, it's so easy : I follow a bike path most of the way, and when I get to Dolphin I park very easily in 1 of the 3 secure bike locals.
I feel great when I'm on my bike, and I don't get stressed out because there's never a traffic jam!"
"Dolphin is easily accessible by bike with cycle paths all the way from Grenoble, and the infrastructure is well managed: several large secure bike storage areas, accessible showers, and a toolbox in case repairs are needed."
"Cycling isn't just good for the planet—it's great for your health. By pedaling, our employees reduce their risk of cardiovascular disease while saving on fuel and vehicle maintenance costs."
"Cycling is by far the best option for commuting between Grenoble and Meylan. It's fast, safe, economical, and enjoyable. Even the occasional heavy rain is easy to manage with the right gear, always kept in the saddlebag just in case. I no longer experience the stress of traffic jams or the constant clock-watching at every red light when I need to pick up my daughter in Grenoble. Plus, we get paid for the trips. What a strange idea to still use a car!"
Choose Sustainable Transportation
